Jorge R de Tuya is the Vice President of Sales at Interport Logistics. Mr. de Tuya comes from a long tradition of Logistics and Freight Forwarders dating back to the 1940’s when his father, Oscar de Tuya Sr., opened his first logistics company in New York. In 1968, Mr. de Tuya along with his brother Oscar C de Tuya Jr., opened their very own business in Miami known as Tuya International, which quickly grew and became one of the leading logistics providers in South Florida. One the many successes that Tuya International had, was opening up the Central and South American markets to the South Florida Logistics Industry in the 1970’s, beginning a long and prosperous relationship with those regions.

Mr. de Tuya sold his company in 1986 to a well-known European forwarder and went into early retirement; however, in 1992 Mr. de Tuya joined Golden Eagle Group (NASDAQ:GEGP), one of the leading Third Party Logistics (3PL) Companies in the United States, which specialized in Inventory Control and Just in Time (JIT) programs. In 2003, Mr. de Tuya joined Interport Logistics as Vice President of Sales. Mr. de Tuya has long been involved in the Logistics community; he is a former president of the NVOCC’s Association and FCBF, which inducted him into the FCBF Hall of Fame in 2009. He has won several awards throughout his career and continues to be a leading pioneer in the industry.
